Alright so there could be a ton of different reasons why someone wants to upgrade their next home.
- You're currently renting and you want to upgrade to actual homeownership
- Youre growing a family and you need extra bedrooms
- You want a bigger yard so you can entertain with a pool or have a dog
There are several different reasons why youd want to upgrade and I want to give you a couple of things to think about because there are a lot of people dreaming about upgrading to their next home right now.
Dreaming is a great first step!
The first step is when you see something on Facebook or Instagram and you think, wouldnt it be cool to live in this house? Next thing you know youre sitting on your coach and your spouse is scrolling through a website of houses and youre both getting excited looking at whats out there.
So obviously youre interested in this idea. Theres something about your current home that youre not 100% satisfied with that is driving your interest in upgrading. So now what does it look like to get serious about upgrading?
And if you get serious about it... does that mean youre committed to doing something?
Im here to tell you absolutely not, there's a lot of things you can do to get crystal clear about what it looks like to get to that next place.
The first thing I want to tell you to think about is... what do you really want?
Is it the bigger backyard?
Or is that bigger backyard conditional upon making sure that the house is upgraded as well, and your kitchen is upgraded to the nines, and your bathrooms are all renovated?
Or is it okay that your house is lesser than what you currently have, as long as you get that bigger backyard or that one acre property?
What are the conditions?
What do you truly want?

Now we know what it will potentially cost.
Step 3 is to evaluate your current situation. So let's take a look!
- What is your current house worth?
- How much equity do you have after everything's all said and done?
- What are the net proceeds that are going to be in your pocket? So we can apply that to a buying scenario.
Once we apply that to a buying scenario and take a look at all the costs associated with buying real estate. Then we can find out what your monthly obligation will be to hold that upgraded home.
Does that fall in line with your financial goals?
Is that something you can afford to do?
This shocks people; how surprisingly affordable it is to upgrade to that next home.
But people don't have the tools to make it happen and it takes them a long time to figure out. And were all short on time right?
